About Me

I spent over fifteen years in community mental health working in a variety of direct care and organizational leadership roles. This experience deeply informs my practice. I believe everyone deserves access to high-quality and compassionate mental health care. I also recognize the huge impact social determinants of health have on care. Therapy is an important part of the puzzle but it’s not the only part.

As a therapist, my practice is grounded in the importance of the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to collaborate to create a healthy and trusting therapeutic relationship that can be restorative and reparative for other areas of a client’s life. Beyond the therapeutic relationship, I utilize a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based, solution-focused, and values-based work.

As a clinical supervisor, I strive to foster an environment of collaborative learning. My goal is to support supervisees to develop their own clinical practice model and be able to ask difficult questions, both about themselves and client cases, along the way.

Outside of work, I am a runner, cyclist, long-distance backpacker, climber, and general outdoor enthusiast. Nature is powerful and meditative and I strive to spend as much time in it as possible. I live in Portland with my wife and two cats.
